Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor is one of the best harbors on the Maine coast. Not only is it large and well protected, it is easy to enter under all conditions. Hear are all the services a yachtsman might need and then some. If you are coasting west or east, it is very convenient-less than five miles off the direct route.

The town's annual Windjammer Days festival is a wonderful spectacle, but it is popular. Reserve your berth or mooring ahead of time.

Hog Island

Hog island, in the upper reaches of Muscongus Bay, was established in 1936 as the first of four Audobon Ecology Camps. The 330-acre wilderness area encompasses a variety of habitats—rocky tertidal zones, mudflats, salt marshes, spruce-fir forests, and freshwater ponds. Audobon generously shares the island with visitors, who may hike the trails and look at their natural history collections.
